Your custom plush sample is ready. Can you approve it from photos, or should you have it shipped to you first?
For first-time buyers, this choice affects review time, shipping costs, and what you can personally check before production.
Na CustomPlushMaker, you can approve your sample through photos and video, or receive a physical sample before deciding whether to approve production.
The right approach depends on your project. Some requirements can be checked on screen; others are easier to judge with the toy in your hands.
1. What Can You Check Through Photos and Video?
Photos help you examine individual details. Video adds different angles, movement, and a better sense of the overall toy. Together, they can support a thorough visual review.
| What to Check | How Photos or Video Can Help |
| Overall shape and proportions | Review the silhouette, pose, head-to-body proportions, and symmetry |
| Facial features and component placement | Check the positions of the eyes, mouth, ears, tail, and other parts |
| Embroidery and printing | Review logos, text, artwork placement, and visible workmanship |
| Plush clothing and accessories | Check appearance, fit, and attachment points |
| Dimensions | Verify measurements using photos with a ruler or measuring tape |
| Requested revisions | Compare versions and check whether agreed changes were made |
Ask for front, back, and side views, along with close-ups of important details. If one feature is essential to your character’s identity, point it out so it receives specific attention.
A sample looking right in photos does not mean every requirement has been confirmed. Review the images alongside the written material, size, and accessory specifications.
2. What Is Better Checked in Person?
Some qualities can be demonstrated on video but cannot be fully experienced through a screen.
| What to Check | Limits of Photos and Video |
| Fabric feel | You can see texture and pile length, but cannot feel softness or surface texture |
| Stuffing firmness | A squeezing demonstration provides a reference, but cannot replace handling the toy |
| Weight and balance | We can provide the weight, but numbers do not fully convey how it feels to hold |
| Sense of scale | Measurement photos confirm dimensions; holding the toy provides a different perspective |
| Color | Lighting, cameras, and screen settings can affect its appearance |
| Accessory usability | Clothing changes, keychain attachments, and moving parts are easier to evaluate firsthand |
For example, you may want a toy that feels soft enough to hug but firm enough to hold its shape. Even with agreed dimensions and filling specifications, handling the sample is usually the clearest way to judge that experience.
If touch and usability are central to your buying decision, we recommend receiving a physical sample.
3. When Is Photo and Video Approval Worth Considering?
Remote approval can eliminate one international sample shipment. It is most useful when your requirements are clear and the important checks can be completed remotely.
| Project Situation | Why Remote Approval May Work |
| You are familiar with the selected fabric and filling | You already have a practical reference for how the materials feel |
| Your main priorities are visual | Multiple views, close-ups, video, and written specifications can address the key requirements |
| You are reviewing an unchanged reorder sample | You have the original toy as a reference, provided any material or construction changes are checked |
| Your team can review together remotely | Everyone can examine the same images and specifications and submit consolidated feedback |
Photo approval does not mean reducing your standards. You still need to confirm the materials, dimensions, colorway, accessories, and sample version.
If an important requirement remains difficult to judge, request more information or arrange a physical sample rather than approving with unresolved questions.
4. When Should You Receive a Physical Sample?
A physical review is particularly useful for a first project or when the product’s feel and function are important.
| Project Situation | Value of an In-Person Review |
| You are new to custom plush materials | Build a firsthand understanding of the fabric, filling, size, and construction |
| Softness or hugging comfort is a selling point | Evaluate firmness, weight, and comfort directly |
| Accessories will be used frequently | Check clothing removal, attachment methods, and ease of use |
| Color matching is important | Examine the sample under actual lighting and compare it with the agreed reference |
| Several stakeholders need to sign off | Let your team, retail partner, or other reviewers examine the same physical version |
Neither a visual review nor handling a sample replaces any formal testing your project requires. Discuss applicable testing and verification needs separately before production.
5. How Do the Costs and Timing Compare?
For a 100-piece first order, include international sample shipping in your budget if you want to review the physical sample. If you approve through photos and video and skip the sample shipment, you save that shipping charge.

| Consideration | Photo and Video Approval | Physical Sample Review |
| International sample shipment | No shipment needed for that review | Arranged and quoted separately |
| Sample shipping cost | No charge for a shipment that is not made | Paid by the customer |
| Transit time | No waiting for that international shipment | Time needed for transportation and customs clearance |
| Hands-on checks | Limited to what can be shown and documented | Direct review of feel, weight, firmness, and usability |
| Team review | Share photos, video, and specifications | Arrange access to the physical sample |
Destination import duties, taxes, and customs clearance charges are paid by the customer and are not included in the sample fee or shipping quote.
Projects that proceed to production using photo and video approval may also qualify for a production discount. We explain the applicable arrangement in your quote. This is separate from a refund or credit of the sample development fee.
International delivery can be affected by carrier schedules and customs processing. If you have a firm launch or event date, tell us early and allow time for sample review, possible revisions, and production.
Choose the review method based on what you need to verify, then weigh the costs and timing. Skipping shipment does not mean skipping sample development, inspection, or approval.
To distinguish a photo-approval discount from a sample fee credit, read why sample development is charged separately.
6. Approval to Ship Is Different from Approval for Production
Figure 1. Permission to ship a sample and approval to start production are separate steps.
“Please send me this sample” and “Please manufacture my order using this version” are different instructions.
| Approval Stage | What It Means |
| Approval to ship the sample | You have reviewed its photos and agree to receive this version for further inspection |
| Physical sample review | You check feel, weight, scale, and other requirements that need hands-on assessment |
| Approval for bulk production | You authorize production using a specified sample version and final specifications |
If you choose a physical review, confirm the final production requirements after inspecting the sample.
If you choose remote approval, complete your review using photos, video, and written specifications, then clearly state whether production is approved.
Avoid vague approvals such as “It looks fine.” Instead, identify the sample version, confirm the specifications, and state whether you are approving shipment or production.
For example:
“I approve sample version V3, shown in the photos dated [date], for shipment and physical review. This is not approval for bulk production.”
Or:
“I approve sample version V3 and the attached final specifications for bulk production. I do not require a physical sample before production.”
7. What Should You Confirm Before Approving Production?
Whichever review method you choose, both sides need a clear, shared reference.
| Item | What to Confirm |
| Sample version | Identify the photo date or version number so older versions are not used |
| Final dimensions | Confirm the measurement points, method, and agreed size requirements |
| Materials and colorway | Check fabric, filling, colors, and related specifications |
| Embroidery, printing, and accessories | Confirm artwork, placement, and accessory details |
| Completed revisions | Check each agreed change against the latest version |
| Temporary substitutions | Confirm the final production plan for any temporary sample materials or components |
| Production authorization | State in writing whether the identified version and specifications are approved for production |
List any unresolved items and agree on how they will be handled before production begins.
Sample approval does not replace production quality control. The order must still be made and inspected against the confirmed requirements.
8. What If You Want Changes After Receiving the Sample?
At CustomPlushMaker, we normally ship the physical sample after you approve its photos for shipment.
New adjustments requested after you receive that sample are quoted separately. You also pay to ship the revised sample. Unused revision rounds from before shipment do not automatically carry over to changes requested after delivery.
If the sample misses or does not meet a requirement already confirmed with us, we handle that separately from a new design request. We correct the issue without treating it as additional design work. If another shipment is needed, we confirm the arrangements and related costs beforehand.
Choosing photo approval does not waive the agreed material, filling, construction, or quality requirements.
Reviewing visible details before shipment—and focusing on hands-on checks after delivery—can help reduce repeated revisions and shipments.
For the complete service policy, see sample revision and shipping rules.
Which Approval Method Fits Your Project?
If you know the materials, have clear specifications, and can verify the important requirements remotely, photo and video approval may be suitable.
If this is your first project, or feel, color, weight, and usability are central to your decision, receiving a physical sample is usually the more useful option.
The right method gives you enough information to approve production confidently—not simply the lowest shipping cost or shortest wait.
At CustomPlushMaker, production starts at 100 pieces per design, per colorway, with sample development quoted separately.

Često postavljana pitanja
Can I approve my custom plush sample through photos and video?
Yes. CustomPlushMaker offers photo and video approval without requiring a physical sample shipment before production. Review the sample alongside the final specifications, and clearly confirm whether you are approving shipment or bulk production.
When should I request a physical sample?
We recommend a physical sample when fabric feel, firmness, weight, color, or usability is important to your decision. Photos and video provide useful visual information but cannot fully replace handling the toy.
Does approving sample photos mean I have approved production?
Not automatically. Approval to ship a sample and approval for bulk production are separate decisions. Your written approval should identify the sample version and specifications and clearly state which step you authorize.
Does photo approval reduce sample shipping costs?
If you do not request a physical sample shipment before production, you avoid that shipment’s international shipping cost and transit time. Any applicable production discount is explained separately in your quote.
What if I want changes after receiving the physical sample?
New changes requested after delivery are quoted separately, and you pay to ship the revised sample. If we missed a confirmed requirement, we handle the correction separately from a new design request and discuss any necessary shipping arrangements with you.
