You want to order 100 custom plush toys: perhaps two characters with 50 of each, or one character in two colors with 50 of each. Does that meet a 100-piece minimum?
At CustomPlushMaker, our minimum order quantity (MOQ) is 100 pieces per design, per colorway. Different designs or colorways cannot be combined to reach 100 pieces.
A colorway means the finished toy’s overall color combination. One toy can include several colors and still count as a single colorway. You do not need to order an additional 100 pieces for every color used on the toy.
Here’s how it works.
1. Which Order Combinations Meet the Minimum?
| Your Planned Order | Does It Meet the Minimum? | What’s Required |
| One character in one colorway, 100 pieces | Evet | 100 pieces total |
| Two different characters, 50 pieces each | HAYIR | 100 per design, or 200 total |
| The same bear in brown and white, 50 pieces each | HAYIR | 100 per colorway, or 200 total |
| The same bear in brown and white, 100 pieces each | Evet | 200 pieces total |
| Three different characters, 100 pieces each | Evet | 300 pieces total |
| A brown bear with a white belly, 100 pieces | Evet | One design in one colorway, 100 pieces total |
The minimum applies to each design and colorway—not just the total number of toys in your order.
2. Does a Multicolored Toy Count as Multiple Colorways?
No. A plush toy can use several colors within one colorway.
For example, your bear might have:
- A brown body.
- A white belly.
- Black eyes.
- Pink inner ears.
If all 100 bears use that same color combination, they count as one colorway and meet the minimum.
If you also want the bear with a white body or a beige body, those are separate colorways.
| What You Want to Produce | Number of Colorways | Minimum Total Quantity |
| Brown body with a white belly | 1 | 100 pieces |
| Brown-body version and white-body version | 2 | 200 pieces—100 of each |
| Brown-body, white-body, and beige-body versions | 3 | 300 pieces—100 of each |
When requesting a quote, send an image or description of each version. This helps us confirm the colorways without confusing the number of versions with the number of colors used in one toy.
3. Why Can’t Two Designs with 50 Pieces Each Count as One 100-Piece Order?
From a buyer’s perspective, two characters add up to 100 toys. For the production team, however, they are two separate products that each need preparation.
Different characters may require their own:
- Sewing patterns and cutting files.
- Embroidery designs and placement.
- Fabric and accessory arrangements.
- Sewing sequences and work instructions.
- First production units and checks.
Even if two characters are similar in size or use the same fabric, they cannot simply be treated as one continuous production run.
Combining the quantities does not combine all the preparation work. That is why each design must meet the 100-piece minimum.
4. Why Does the Same Design Need 100 Pieces in Each Colorway?
Different colorways may share sewing patterns and some production steps. But material purchasing and handling still need to be managed separately.
Consider the same bear in brown and white:
| Production Step | What Changes Between Colorways |
| Fabric purchasing | Different fabric colors must be confirmed and purchased |
| Thread and accessory matching | Sewing thread, embroidery thread, and other components must be checked against each version |
| Cutting and sorting | Each fabric color must be cut, counted, and organized into the correct sets |
| Production handling | Components must stay separated and move through the appropriate operations |
| Finished-product checks | Colors, quantities, and specifications must be checked for each version |
Splitting 100 toys across three colorways would leave only about 33 of each. Yet each version would still need its own material purchasing and production preparation.
For that reason, CustomPlushMaker requires 100 pieces per colorway, rather than 100 pieces across all colorways combined.
5. What If You Have Several Ideas but a Limited Budget?
If you are not ready to order 100 pieces of every design, consider choosing one to launch first.
| Your Situation | A Possible Starting Point |
| You have several characters but do not know which will sell best | Use audience feedback, preorders, or existing sales to choose the first design |
| One character has several possible colorways | Start with the most recognizable or popular version |
| You want to build a collection | Release designs in stages and use early feedback to guide the next launch |
| Two characters must appear together at an event | Budget for 100 of each and check whether the total fits your needs |
Choosing one design in one colorway keeps the initial order at 100 pieces.
A staged launch will not suit every project. If several characters need to be available together, weigh the quantity requirements against your budget, purpose, and delivery schedule.
6. How to Describe Your Order When Requesting a Quote
Instead of saying only “I need 100 plush toys,” list each design, colorway, and quantity separately.
For example:
| Tasarım | Colorway | Planned Quantity |
| Bear character | Brown body with a white belly | 100 |
| Bear character | White body with a pink belly | 100 |
| Rabbit character | Beige body with a white tail | 100 |
| Total | Three design-and-colorway combinations | 300 |
For a more accurate assessment, also include:
- Artwork or reference images.
- Your preferred size.
- A description and quantity for each colorway.
- Accessory and packaging requirements, such as key rings, hanging loops, clothing worn by the plush toy, custom labels, or boxes.
- The intended use and your target delivery date.
If you are unsure whether a change counts as a new design or colorway, send us the images first. We can clarify the versions before you finalize quantities.

SSS
What is CustomPlushMaker’s minimum order quantity?
Our minimum order is 100 pieces per design, per colorway. Different designs or colorways cannot be combined to meet the minimum.
Can I order two different characters with 50 pieces each?
No. Each character is a separate design and requires at least 100 pieces. Two characters require a minimum of 200 pieces—100 of each.
Can I split 100 pieces between two colors of the same design?
No. Each colorway requires 100 pieces. For example, the same bear in brown and white requires 100 brown bears and 100 white bears, for 200 pieces total.
Does a toy with several colors count as multiple colorways?
No. A colorway is the finished toy’s overall color combination. A brown bear with a white belly, black eyes, and pink inner ears counts as one colorway if all units use that same combination. You can order 100 pieces of that version.
Why does each colorway need its own 100-piece minimum?
Different colorways may share patterns, but they require separate fabric purchasing, cutting, sorting, and production handling. Each version therefore needs to meet the minimum independently.
What if I have several designs but a limited budget?
You can start with one design in one colorway to keep your initial order at 100 pieces, then introduce additional versions as demand and budget allow.
How should I describe my designs and colors when requesting a quote?
Send artwork or reference images for each design and colorway, with the quantity you want for each. Include the preferred size, accessories, packaging requirements, and target delivery date. If you are unsure how a variation is classified, we can review it before you finalize quantities.
