Example first-order budget: $1,155 for sample development and production, or $11.55 per toy.
At CustomPlushMaker, sample development starts at $155 USD and the minimum order is 100 pieces per design and per colorway. This example assumes $10 per toy for production of 100 ten-inch plush bears with standard embroidery and basic packaging, all in one design and colorway. Add testing, shipping, and any separately quoted features or packaging to estimate your full budget.

1. What Should You Budget for a 100-Piece Custom Plush Order?
| Budget item | 100-piece example | What to confirm |
| Sample development | $155 | This is our starting fee. The final amount depends on the design. |
| 프로덕션 | 100 × $10 = $1,000 | The $10 unit price is an assumption for this example. |
| Development and production subtotal | $1,155 | $11.55 per toy after spreading the development fee across 100 units. |
| Interactive features and components | Quoted by feature | Check one-time development and setup fees and the per-unit cost of components and assembly. |
| Custom packaging | Quoted by packaging type | Check whether tags or boxes are included and how they affect carton size and freight. |
| Third-party safety testing | Quoted by sales market | Budget for testing for children’s toys, company mascots, and character merchandise. |
| Physical sample shipping | Applies if shipped | If you approve by photos and video without requesting shipment, you save this charge. |
| Bulk shipping and destination charges | Quoted by route and address | Check whether clearance, applicable duties and taxes, and final delivery are included. |
| Total first-order budget | $1,155 plus separately quoted costs | Count each expense once. |
The $155 development fee adds $1.55 per toy when spread across 100 units. If you reorder the same design to the same specifications, we won’t charge the original sample development fee again.

2. Why Do Two 100-Piece Plush Orders Cost Different Amounts?
A bear wearing an embroidered shirt can take considerably less work than a bear of the same height wearing a fitted jacket, hat, pants, and shoes. Each clothing item may need its own pattern, fitting, and sewing. The quote also depends on construction, fabric, fill, and the number and placement of embroidered or printed details.
When you send your artwork, specify the sitting or standing height and whether it includes the ears. Tell us which details must stay and where you have room to adjust the design to fit your budget.
A brown bear and a white version of the same bear require 100 of each, or 200 toys total. If every bear has a brown body, white belly, and black eyes, those colors make up one finished colorway, and you can order 100.

3. How Much Do Interactive Features and Custom Packaging Add?
Ask for two quotes at the same quantity if you’re deciding whether to add a feature or change the packaging. A base quote and an upgraded quote make it easier to compare the cost of each option.
| Option | What can add to the cost |
| Sound modules and music boxes | Components, installation, and function checks. Custom audio may require preparation, programming, and sample adjustments. |
| Lights or mechanical movement | Components, mounting, changes to the toy’s construction, and setup or function checks. |
| Touch-activated features | A sensor or switch, its placement, and the response it triggers, such as playing a recorded phrase. |
| AI interaction | Speech recognition or conversational responses are evaluated separately based on the requested functions. |
| Branded hang tags, stickers, or insert cards | Printing, setup, and attachment or packing. Ask whether the supplier can produce 100 sets. |
| Custom retail boxes or gift boxes | Box development, printing, inserts, and packing. Ask about the packaging minimum and carton dimensions. |
Separate one-time development and setup fees from component and assembly charges per unit. Flag batteries or detachable parts early so we can account for them in the testing and shipping plan.
Printed packaging can have its own minimum order. A rigid gift box can also take up more carton space than a basic bag. Compare the packaging cost per toy and the freight cost to the same address.
4. Do You Need to Budget for Safety Testing on a 100-Piece Plush Order?
Yes. We recommend budgeting for testing even on a first order of 100 pieces. CustomPlushMaker arranges testing against children’s toy safety standards for the intended sales market. We use the same approach for children’s toys, company mascots given to employees, and character merchandise made for fans. Small shipments can also be selected for import examination in the United States.
We list testing separately in the quote. These are common tests we’ve arranged for customers in our main markets.
| Sales market | Common test areas |
| United States | ASTM F963 mechanical and physical tests, flammability, stuffing material checks, and applicable chemical tests. |
| European Union | EN 71-1, -2, and -3, covering mechanical and physical properties, flammability, and migration of certain elements. |
| United Kingdom | BS EN 71-1, -2, and -3, covering mechanical and physical properties, flammability, and migration of certain elements. |
| Canada | Toys Regulations (SOR/2011-17), including small parts, stuffing, outer-covering flammability, and applicable chemical tests. |
| Australia and New Zealand | AS/NZS 8124 series tests covering mechanical and physical properties, flammability, and migration of certain elements. |
We confirm the age grade and sewn-in label requirements during sample development. If your toy has sound, batteries, or detachable parts, include those details in your inquiry so we can account for related tests in the quote.
Testing won’t reduce the quantity you receive. When initial production testing is needed, we plan enough units in the same production run and take samples from that batch using the sampling plan confirmed by the lab. The cost of making those units is included in the testing quote. You still receive the 100 finished toys you ordered.
5. How Much Does It Cost to Ship 100 Custom Plush Toys to the US?
Shipping is quoted using the destination ZIP code, carton count, dimensions, weight, and delivery service. We can quote port-to-port ocean freight, air freight, international courier, and door-to-door ocean or air shipping. For 100-piece orders from China to the US, our customers most often choose door-to-door ocean shipping or international courier.

Figure 2. Delivery estimates use different starting points. Confirm timing for your route.
| Shipping option | What to check in the quote |
| Door-to-door ocean shipping | About 40 calendar days from vessel departure to delivery. For eligible routes, we can quote delivery with export and import clearance, applicable import duties and taxes, and final delivery to the agreed address included. |
| International courier | About 10 calendar days from courier pickup to delivery. Confirm the service and whether duties, taxes, or clearance charges are included. |
| Port-to-port ocean freight, air freight, or door-to-door air shipping | Confirm whether the shipment goes to a port, airport, or street address, and who handles clearance and onward delivery. |
Door-to-door ocean shipping can deliver to a home, studio, or warehouse when the route and schedule fit. Allow extra time before the vessel departs for consolidation and scheduling. For an event or launch, share your deadline so we can compare courier and air options.
Compare both shipping quotes to the same final address. Add any destination charges, clearance, duties, taxes, or local delivery the port quote leaves out. Confirm the delivery point and included charges in writing before placing the order.
To estimate landed cost per unit for your first run, divide your full cost through delivery by the number of units available for sale. Include sample development and any testing, packaging, or features billed separately, along with freight and applicable destination charges.
Physical sample shipping is quoted separately. If you approve by photos and video and skip the physical shipment, you save that shipping charge.

6. When Are Payments Due, and What Changes on a Reorder?
| Stage | Payment arrangement |
| Before sample development | The sample development fee is paid in full. |
| When the production order is confirmed | We can arrange a deposit. The amount is agreed for your order. |
| After production and before shipment | The remaining balance is due under the agreed terms. |
We quote sample development separately, and the fee isn’t credited toward production. For a reorder of the same design to the same specifications, we use the patterns, cutting templates, embroidery files, and material records already on file. The original development fee won’t be charged again. Production, packaging, shipping, and any testing needed are quoted for that order.

| Sample development | The fee, what it covers, and any separate physical sample shipping charge. |
| Features and packaging | One-time setup fees, per-unit charges, and items included in the production price. |

If you’re looking for a custom plush manufacturer with a 100-piece minimum, send CustomPlushMaker a sketch or reference image, approximate size, quantity per design and colorway, intended sales market, and delivery ZIP code. A rough sketch is enough to start. Include any required features, packaging, or delivery deadline.
