Safety Alert: Recall of Mother and Baby Plush Toys Due to Choking Hazard

CustomPlushMaker wants to ensure the safety and well-being of our customers, especially the youngest members of your family. Recently, Health Canada issued a nationwide recall notice for certain mother-and-baby plush animal toys sold under the Chantia Sales brand. These toys have been identified as a potential choking hazard due to hard plastic eyes that can detach.

Details of the Recall

The recall affects mother-and-baby plush animals, including elephants, giraffes, lions, tigers, and pandas. The baby version is attached to the mother plush toy. These items, manufactured in China, can be identified by the Item Number P273585 and UPC 8140239986.

Safety Alert Recall of Mother and Baby Plush Toys Due to Choking Hazard

Reason for Concern

The hard plastic eyes on the toys may detach, posing a serious choking hazard for young children. While no injuries or incidents have been reported in Canada as of December 16, 2024, Health Canada is taking a proactive approach to prevent any potential harm.

Actions for Consumers

Health Canada advises consumers to:

  1. Stop using the recalled plush toys immediately.
  2. Return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Approximately 120 units of these toys were sold in Canada between May 2023 and December 2024.

Reporting Concerns

If you experience or observe any safety issues, you can report them by submitting a consumer product incident report through Health Canada’s website.
